double ouch
So so...now I am kind of OK, my mouth regains its normal condition almost. But AGAIN, it looks I have lost or left somewhere without knowing, my knitting mojo. It is hard. In a sense, it is more difficult than a temporary dental unconfortability. Now, in two weeks I will be in France as usual, for our family's summer vacation. This time it is three weeks. Under normal condition, I would be now excited how to choose my vacation project. I should check my patterns everywhere, look into cheerfully my stash closet, try to eliminate and identify the candidates to bring with me, start to make center-pull balls....
Nothing. nothing of them, these ideas, don't make me feel excited.
It is very sad. And my socks for sockapalooza doesn't go well. It is my first priority, and after that I have completely no idea.
What do you do in this kind of mood? Oh, please hold my hand and tell me I would be OK. Give me the needles. I try to grab it again.

????
I'm glad your tooth is feeling better, but sorry about your knitting mojo. Is it the heat and humidity in Kanto?
Take something anyway--you will appreciate having it on the long plane ride! Have fun en France!

Your post puts a reader in a terrible position. I know how terrible a tooth extraction is--it feels like someone is wrenching a part of your head out, which they are--and then it takes a long time to heal. I know the odd loneliness of having your knitting abandon you. But there's that matter of 3 WEEKS' VACATION in France. How can I express the proper sympathy when the thought of your 3 weeks in France is lodged in my head? The envy! The self-pity! Ah well, here goes: perhaps when your mouth is completely better it will help your overall spirits. And if you do end up not feeling motivated to bring along some vacation projects, that will be an excellent excuse to visit yarn shops on your trip!

Oh, I hope you're feeling better soon! You need to get excited about all that knitting time on the plane(s). Where are you going in France? I'll be in Brittany in a week. Any chance you are going there???

Glad to hear your mouth is returning to normal, sad to hear about the loss of the knitting mojo. My knitting mojo does disappearing acts too, usually when I'm stressed or preoccupied with other things. Don't worry, it will come back. :) I find blog reading highly helpful in making the mojo speed back home. Sometimes all it takes is a photo on someone's blog of some beautiful project (or yarn) and suddenly, I'm itching to pick up the needles again. I hope you have a wonderful time in France. If nothing else, think of this as an opportunity for yarn inspiration while you are in France. :)
