beautiful old things

At my last post I showed you what I've got in France, and yet I didn't show you these:

needles.jpg

These are old needles, which I have found and bought at "Broquante", frea market in France.

Each time when I go to France, I look for the notice of broquante and go there, for treasure hunting. There is anything, and normally I cannot find good wool(instead I find sometimes bunch of acrylics), but there are some treasures if you look into carefully...we love to visit there, don't we??

This time, I found these collection of old colorful needles, all are narrow as for fine yarn. Actually I don't know if I really try them, I don't care, I just love them.

These are so beautiful, but unfortunately the edges are broken and ruined... but it's OK. It's....a souvenir of a summer vacation.

BTW: I am leaving for Moscow on coming Thursday. I have scarcely have free time, but if I could, I will try to find some Russian wool... and I accompagnie this with me:

I might be able to knit in the plain, or I will read "Knit one, kill two"...

France report-2

Hey hey hey...since I have come back from vacation, I have been incredibly busy for work and my boys are always sick...but anyway, I have to show you what I scored in France:

Of course I went to Phildar shop....I have searched the nearest one from my place in advance, from Japan.

And left the shop with a big bag, happily....Wanna see the contents?

Actually the denim-blue balls of the front were bought afterward in an another Phildar shop, which I happened to find nearer than the other one! It was on sale and it is suede-type yarn. The four whity yarns are just...on sale. I bought the rest for making this:

Striking....I want to make it a bit longer, so I added some extra balls. I don't know when I could make it...And, I bought them too:

EIGHT Phildar magazines!! All in French....it makes me weak a little, I admit, but the designs are so nice and I could not leave the shop without them...

Actually I've got some rare knitting stuff too, on the other days in France, but I will show it to you next time.

I am, really, SO BUSY for work for now, and this time I am coping with it and not so in knitting mood since some time. My current task take all my time but it is exciting job, I love it. I cannot tell you about the current project now, but in November I can tell you. I am a tiny part of a enoumous entertainment project for next year and I am going to Moscow for 5 days business-trip in 10 days. I though try to bring my sock knitting in the flight!

came back

Yesterday evening I have arrived at Tokyo and now I am fully in jet lag, but I am OK. Thank you so much for your kind comments and I have enjoyed my once-a-year precious vacation...it flied by, as usual.

Now, let me tell you about my gifts. The gift for MIL got a perfect fit for her:

dtank.jpg

It of course made me very happy....but you do remember my sock for FIL in question. I have just turned the heel of the first when I left, and I secretly diligently worked after arrival, as planned. I put kind of my knitting "turbo" on, so miraculously I reached the toe-grafting at the end of the day, started the second sock the next day, and finished it the day after. It was actually my record to finish a sock only for two days. Look!

I took this photo, wrapped it, and gave it to FIL, at the same time when I gave the tank above to MIL. It fits too:

He was so glad and me too!

Now, I have to report my Phildar visit, but I am so sleepy now...let me tell you next time about it, please....
