holiday projects

Hey hey....in ten days, I will leave for my vacation. So, now my most important thing to do is to choose knitting project to bring. Oh it is just a pleasure....imagining what to knit! But also, it is quite difficult. My vacation is 11 days, with my boys, DH, and DH's in-laws. Among family duties and boys care, though, it is my most precious time to knit, once a year.

Now I am wondering that, anyhow I cannot complete my Alchemy silk tank before leaving, so I have to bring it. The problem is, how many MORE I would let me bring...I searched into my stash(Good me, I didn't buy anything new for it!)to find some, here is my idea:

cascade220.jpg
Cascade 220. (sorry the photo is not good, it is more beautiful wine red!)I have wanted always to knit "Sophie" bag of Booga J, and printed out its pattern, bought this yarn especially for this project. It requires only one skein of yarn, it looks most reasonable to bring with.

chenille.jpg
Rowan fine cotton chenille and 4ply cotton. These are for "Lime" cardi, a very cute but simple lace pattern cardi from Rowan 27. Recently I made a lace pattern swatch for work and it was really fun, since I feel strong urge to knit lace pattern stuff. The priblem is, my pace is not so speedy and if I cannot complete during vacation, I cannot absolutely put it on within this summer....

calmers.jpg
Rowan Calmer, for Alison's "Nothing but a T-shirt" pattern. This is also the one I wanted to knit very much this summer but I cannot never find a moment to start it. It is five balls project and also I love to try Calmer for the first time in my life.

I know I know, it is NOT AT ALL reasonable to bring all. I have to choose one, or two....aside of silk tank. sigh....

Tokyo SNB

Last Tuesday night, I have been at Tokyo Stitch'n Bitch as the first time. I became the member around a year ago, and this is my first attendance...you know, when you have a baby and a kid at home, the evening time is very busy, it is almost impossible to go out. BUT I came over!! Yey! I was very happy and I enjoyed very much the meeting. I met Kat and other members, they are friendly and nice, it was very confortable to be, even it was the first time.

Of course, everyone brought their WIP, we can just order some drink or meal and knit! They said it was less people than usual, and it is quite understandable for me as it is summer season now and not so many people who are enthusiastic for knitting here in Japan.
Though, the majorrity had wool knitting. I brought my Alchemy silk tank and knitted it a bit, drinking a beer happily.

I would try to be there in autumn or winter, next time...

get back to knit

For more than two weeks, I have not knitted a stitch for my spare time, since I has been sick and not in the mood. Four days ago I finished to read a very interesting novel about working mother, during my time in transportaion as my only reading time. So I started to bring "At Knit's End" of Stephanie, it looked convenient to bring anywhere as the book is small. Since, the knitter's world which I know well appears in front of my eyes, and it makes me feel strongly the urge to knit. It is a kind of crazy book but I know this craziness myself, and time to time I cannot stand laughing in the train reading this incredible book. For me this book's atmosphere is like home. I love this book!

So far my weekend-knitting has just re-started again. I made this cool tanktop for him.

After this warming-up, I came back to my Alchemy silk tank, ripped out some rows because I was away from it so long, and knitted some more rows. At that time I noticed the gauge looked strange....I used the wrong needle. Ripped out all the rows that I had just knitted. ugh.
