knitted up

Finally I knitted up a baby easy garter cardi:

Looks a little bit too short for length....I knitted for 6 month baby size. But anyway, she has just been born in May, so it should be OK if I could send it right away. Now I am joining up the seams. It is the first time to join garter-garter seam, not the side by side one but along the rows, and it is actually a challenge for me. I thought it should be easier, but now as I am joining the second sleeve, it doesn't look as the first one. Ugh. Anyway next time I would show you. And I look forward to choose the buttons for it. I would select some from my company's product. We'll see...

summer arrives

Officially since a week or so it is rainy season in Tokyo, but it looks rather summer is arriving around here....this week end, there was not so much sunshine but hot, I have stayed in tank dress all day long for two days. Work becomes more and more hectic, due to some parallel works going on. Aside of craft book making(which is now just after the first meeting for checking items prepared, and next week I will arrange once again our sewing and knitting people for reforming items), I am negotiating with people of a foreign yarn brand to be their distributor in the Japanese market. It is fascinating but besides it is the first attempt for our company to import stuffs directly, so I have to learn many things at the same time, for example about custom clearances, etc.

BTW the other day I just dropped in Rowan shop, and I got them:

Jaeger's Celeste. I have not had much interest in this yarn until now, but when I saw this yarn in the shop, I noticed that very linen-like uneven shade in this tape yarn and I liked it. And of course, it was on sale! So far my summer tanks of dream(because you know, now it is not so realistic to materialise them into reality....)is increasing....

parental activity

It was very hot weekend in Tokyo though the rainy season has just started last week. There was a festival at my DS's school on Saturday, we went there. He tried to do some games, made a paper-plane, got a balloon, ate a bit of cheese sandwitches... And today I was busy for house keeping, but between laundries and preparing suppers I made an old-style lemonade sirop with five lemons. That was just a good idea for the season and it pleased DH very much. So far I had a busy but happy weekend as a mother...and it has already ended! I have NOT knitted a stitch this weekend. Uh-oh.

Still

My gift knitting is stuck....I really cannot find a moment to knit now, for at night I have brought some works to do this week from last weekend. Finally it ended up, to write down the patterns. Last time I wrote that I made patterns for designs into the real garment, but actually it is not me who designed them. We asked a designer to make some suggestions and she illustrated her ideas(she is not a designer for knitted garments), and I make them into real knitting patterns. Though, ladies, THOUGH I do design some very little tiny mini stuffs for the book. I might put on the WIP photos one day here....

Currently for the job, I am very thrilled and excited to take care of a big deal....one of my missions is to make a first contact to foreign makers or brands whose products interest us newly. I am just starting to discuss with a certain company. I wish I could make it...

It is rather my original task. The book editing work is to help our press section and it is a kind of backup. Of course I am enjoying it!

So my only precious personal knitting time should be reserved in weekend. I wish I could report something next time...
