Happy new year to you all
I wish you a real happy and relaxed new year.
This new year I start with my Elise:
This is from Rowan Vintage Style. When I saw this page, immediately I fell in love with this classic elegance. I checked the called yarn and it is Felted Tweed, which I had just enough quantity in my stash. When I bought this Burgundy yarn two years ago, I didn't have any specific project for them. But the yarn was stunningly beautiful, and besides it was the moment of winter sale of LYS, I so could not resist to get them.
Actually this yarn is amazing. The looks is like other DK tweedy yarn with slightly delicate touch, but when you knit it, it acts like thin slab yarn. The thickness is changing from fingering to almost aran, but keeping enough solidity(I compare with Rowanspun's fragility) and it is knitted up fairly rapidly, with US #6 needles. The composition is 50% merino wool, 25% alpaca, and 25% Viscose, very confortable to knit, and very light. The chosen color combination for frecks gives it very sophisticated look, though the yarn itself has relaxed, country style atmosphere when knitted up.
This is the back yesterday:
The more I knit this, the more I love the yarn. I am very enjoying to knit this!!
By the way, I have another project that I have just casted on on December 31, some minutes before new year. It is a "leftovers vest" of Alison, that I have promised her to cast on within 2004. I will try to knit it too. I casted on with Jaeger Matchmaker aran.
Oh, I have just decided to reduce my parallel projects, as one of my resolution for 2005, but look....
