Elise

Yesterday I finished the back of Elise:

The gage is slightly different for the vertical length, so I reduced some rows to adjust. For the shoulder I used short-row method so that I can do three needles bind-off. I think it is more neat and easier.

When I knit patterns from Rowan, I find often the number of stitch of shoulder of the back doesn't match with the front. When first time I noticed it, I was stunned and confused. Because in Japan, generally shoulder seaming is "always" three needles bind off and it is NOT possible to be dirrerent the number of stitch. But if you don't do it and instead you simply sew them, it could be possible....it was a discovery for me! So far it is interesting to try the pattern of other countries. I like to learn that kind of bit of differences of culture. That enrich my knitting knowledge and experience.

And today I casted on the first sleeve. Why? because, I have already tried to knit one frilly cuff, and I need to know the bottom of sleeve length to decide my cuff length, for finish the cuff left so long untouched. Also today I knitted a little "Leftovers" vest. I will show you soon...

Hi ! I have many problem with Rowan pattern too ! Ususally, I adjust by myself to make it right. I am get used to Japanese pattern and I think they are more easy to follow.

It is better to use short row for the shoulder. Looking forward to see your FO comes out.
